In 2003 we started a “click & mortar” shop in downtown Milford that specialized in ladybug products of all types.  (“Click & mortar” refers to the fact that in addition to the Internet based shop you are now visiting we have a traditional retail shop in historic downtown Milford, Delaware.) The inspiration for the LadyBug Shop was the fact that in 1974 a second grade class in Milford successfully petitioned the State Legislature to make the ladybug Delaware’s official state bug—which they did.

Much to our surprise and delight our sales growth greatly exceeded our expectations and we have continued to grow over the years.  But we came to realize that most of our ladybug products are designed to meet the needs and tastes of ladies and girls.  Thus we decided it would be nice to have a complementary line of turtle products, especially since many of our suppliers offered products with both ladybug and turtle designs.  (After all, both are cute round figures.)  We hope that our turtle products will provide many more gift options for men and boys.
